Brandon Williams is a multi-talented artist who has been involved in producing, arranging, performing, and remixing works by famous artists in soul, jazz, gospel, and hip-hop, and has received numerous awards, including Grammys. His first leader album, "XII" (2014), showcases his inherent multi-talented abilities. Supported by skilled musicians from his hometown of Detroit, this album is an adult and hip musical journey that connects the Detroit urban sound from Brandon's mentor Michael J. Powell to the late J Dilla. Furthermore, it features jazz talents such as Robert Glasper and Nicholas Payton, hip-hop artists like Black Milk and Pharoahe Monch, and neo-soul/R&B artists such as Frank McComb, Jesse Boykins III, Choklate, Deborah Bond, and Jean Baylor (formerly of Zhane), completing a grand jazz to neo-soul epic. This masterpiece of new-generation jazz R&B approaches the same style as Robert Glasper Experiment's "Black Radio."
