At just 21 years old (as of 2014), Hyleen Gil is already active not only as a singer, but also as a guitarist and composer. Hyleen teamed up with talented producer GOTTA, who has worked with Jill Scott and Jamiroquai, to create her debut work, ``Welcome.'' Drummer David "Finger" Haynes, who has played with Mary J.Blige and Prince, joined the band, and Qmillion, known for his work on Robert Glasper's Grammy-winning album "Black Radio," handled the mixdown. The mini-album ``U & I'', which has been decided to be released in Japan, is a full-length album produced with many gorgeous musicians as guests. The person in charge of the drums for this work was Chris Dave, one of the greatest geniuses in the jazz/hip-hop world, who is also active as a drummer for Robert Glasper, Maxwell, D'Angelo, and others. The chemical reaction between his beats and Hyleen's voice will give you goosebumps. The neo-soul rising star that the world is looking forward to has landed here in Japan from France.
