Shirma Rouse, the Queen of Soul that the Netherlands boasts to the world, was born on the Caribbean island of Curaçao and raised on Sint Eustatius. She first appeared on the Dutch music scene in the late 1990s as a backing vocalist for singer Tasha's World. Since then, she has participated in tours and recordings for various genres and artists, both domestic and international, including Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton, Wouter Hamel, Candy Dulfer, and Alain Clark. As a solo artist, she released her 1st album, "Chocolate Coated Dreams," in 2010, and her 2nd album, "Shirma Rouse Sings Aretha," in 2012. Known as the "Neo-Aretha Franklin," her overwhelming vocals and warm organic sound have captivated soul fans worldwide. There is already great anticipation for her performance with Nao Yoshioka during the "Make the Change Project World Tour," which will travel through America, Europe, and Japan.
