The solo project by Mr. President (aka Patchworks), "Number One", following Dynamics and Metropolitan Jazz Affair, is finally back! This album, which proves the breadth of its musical genres and revives the sound of the golden age of soul funk in the modern era, was released in 2011 as an import title by SWEET SOUL RECORDS, and its retro and rich sound created a buzz and sold out. In response to continued backorders, this re-release includes new bonus tracks, bringing the total to 18 songs. Once you hear "Love and Happiness" or "Celebrate", which were praised by Gilles Peterson and Laurent Garnier, you'll hear Stax and Motown sounds, and in "Trouble", a hot black cinema soundtrack reminiscent of David Axelrod. In "From South to North", he showcases gritty African funk horn sections that have been beautifully sublimated through his filter. In "Meet Again" and "Get It Sometime", he takes listeners to Spanish Harlem with a Latin funk touch.
