Gabriel Garzón-Montano is an NY-based artist active as a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. Regarded as a "notable talent" by Mayer Hawthorne, Lenny Kravitz, and Gilles Peterson, he is truly a rising star for the next generation. He first gained attention after graduating from the Purchase College Conservatory of Music and releasing his debut work "Bishouné: Alma del Huila," which was prompted by his encounter with legendary producer Henry Hirsch, known for his work with Madonna and Mick Jagger. While he says this album, for which he was responsible for everything from composition to playing all instruments, breaths, and handclaps, did not fully satisfy his perfectionist standards, it garnered significant buzz and received high praise from Mayer Hawthorne, Lenny Kravitz, and others. The track "68" from this album was sampled in "Jungle" on Drake's 2015 release "If You're Reading This It's Too Late," propelling him into the spotlight as an overnight sensation.
