Soulfinger is a project team consisting of European DJs Eric Moral and Chris Hofbauer. Formed in 2006 by DJ Eric Moral, who previously ran his own soul label in France, the team has, over several years of activity, collaborated with numerous talented musicians and engineers, continuously exploring ways to realize their envisioned sound. With the addition of internationally acclaimed producer Chris Hofbauer to the team, the two relocated their base of operations to NY. They decided to temporarily forsake commercial success and, as artists, focus on creating music they genuinely wanted to make. They assembled a stellar lineup of singers, musicians, and engineers and embarked on a project to produce a cover album dedicated to the esteemed songwriters of the Motown era. The culmination of 18 months of intensive production was "Life, Love & Passion." This work is a brilliant compilation of soulful tracks, featuring not well-known hits but rather obscure B-sides from releases spanning the late 60s to mid-70s, brought back to life with vibrant energy. It features a host of luxurious guests such as Leela James, Syleena Johnson, Truth Hurts, Jaguar Wright, and Stephanie McKay, supported by legendary musicians who have backed many stars, including Gene Lake, Jonathan Marron, and Mike Ciro, as well as world-class engineers who have worked with Alicia Keys and Erykah Badu. This ambitious project garnered significant attention on Kickstarter and was a rare find, previously only available in the US. Now, it has crossed the ocean and is finally being released in a special Japan-exclusive package. It is the definitive new-generation soul classic, dedicated to all who love soul music.
