idesia is a four-piece band from LA that has even opened for Moonchild, a rising star in the neo-soul scene who has been gaining attention in recent years. The sound created by these four graduates of USC Thornton School of Music has been described using terms such as "electronic soul," "experimental soundscapes with pop elements," and even "urban and groovy trance music." However, more important than these definitions is the simple fact that all of them possess exceptional sensibilities, effortlessly manipulating diverse sounds from neo-soul and jazz to hip-hop and electronica, and captivating many listeners. Influenced by artists such as J Dilla, Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Jill Scott, idesia's flexible musicality, which transcends genre boundaries, is clearly demonstrated in their work. idesia can be described as a new wave artist who reinterprets existing neo-soul sounds in a modern and innovative style. It seems that the future where they become standard-bearers in the soul music scene is not far off.
