Recommended for R&B and Hip-Hop fans: a meticulously crafted lo-fi sound and an R&B heyday sound reminiscent of Musiq Soulchild!

Dre Kay is an Ethiopian duo consisting of producer/singer Dre King and Kenny Allen. In an era where many commercial tracks dominate the R&B top charts, it's nothing short of fortunate to encounter artists like them, who have honed their skills in the underground. Following their "FromTheVault EP" and the single "Longing for Tomorrow," released this summer, their debut full-length album "Common Thread" has finally been released in Japan. The album features an excellent lineup, including the opening track "Inner Peace" with a Stevie Wonder-esque flavor, "Lazy Sunday" with its pleasantly laid-back band sound that deliberately emphasizes lo-fi, echoing the classic R&B chorus work reminiscent of Musiq Soulchild and Dwele, and "Feel Good Thang." The title track "Common Thread," which evokes an Arabian atmosphere, is also exquisitely crafted. Listening to this album, you'll realize that every track contains something that every R&B freak will love. Dre Kay, a 주목 duo, brilliantly blends the diverse culture unique to Ethiopia, where over 80 ethnic groups reside, with influences from various music spanning across eras and genres. By adding a fresh resonance to the sounds of R&B's heyday, they are captivating listeners, and it won't be long before they dominate the R&B charts.
